Picking and Completing my New Year’s Resolutions
As with the end of each year, we become compelled in thinking and preparing our New Year’s resolutions – this year, I’m going to…
“Eat healthy.... cut chocolate out of my diet... drink less coffee,”
“Exercise more... learn to relax”
“Read more books”
“Do more of the things that I want to do, but never get around to doing"
" WORK on MYSELF”…
the list goes on!!!
Here are the top of my favored and picked New Year Resolutions!!!
I've been trying to declutter & organize the various aspects of my life in a more constant way, I still feel the need to organize and declutter once Christmas is gone.
New Years always makes me feel that something has to change and also allows me to see how to embrace it.
So today was the day, it all started early in the morning when I wanted to look for an old picture of my best friend to share it with her on her birthday! I could swear it was in that drawer, then started digging in the nearby shelves, the closet, & finally ended up looking in the storage boxes!! They were all untouched boxes of my old stuff ever since we moved to this house over a year ago!! I always wanted to check them..yet never had the chance...But today was the day & without knowing it I spent my entire morning looking into these boxes 1 after the other and going down a long and old memory lane!!
You sure know the feeling when you bump into your super old letters, birthday card wishes, piled up papers of previous plans -ideas & lists, but above all your old photos!!!
However, never in my wildest dreams did I imagine my son would throw an emotional roller-coaster for not seeing himself in the DVD!! I tried explain but then good luck reasoning with a 4.5 years old!!
So...best solution was to turn it off & once again I ended up not watching it all!!
last but not least, I decided to end my day on a healthy note!!
I decided.... instead of thinking about our resolutions, we challenge ourselves to view the different aspects of our lives as part of a broader journey toward greater personal growth? If we can ask ourselves questions such as:
How can I communicate my feelings with others more effectively?
How can I say NO.... or ask more for what I want and need?
How can I LOVE myself?
Then we’re thinking about the things in life that lead to healthier living. Taking the time to figure out these issues is no easy task, but starting at some point or 1 step at a time is better than nothing :)
Now how about you? Have You started decluttering into 2016?
