Summer Camps: Ongoing Dilemma!

JUNE is a month of mixed feelings: School is almost out, Summer vacation is here, and kids will be home for almost 3 month!!

Thus the mixed feelings: As I'm not sure if it's a YAY or a NAY!!

Last year and once JUNE started, I wrote and shared this post: "Summer camps...a new Dilemma!!" and unfortunately this year I found myself asking same question all over again: to enroll or not to enroll my kids in summer camps!!!
I have nothing against Summer Camps in general... I'm not so excited on waking up early in the morning, committing for a schedule, and I worry too much! (not to mention fees are doubled once you have 2 kids to register and thus it will take away from our other FAMILY Outings!!!) and that's my other Dilemma....

Part of FEM role: I get to  research, gather and save every single Summer camp brochure in a dedicated Album.... thus making it easy for all my members (including myself) to compare, check, and cross match pro's and Con's of all the listed options...

This year we even managed to collaborate with some Summer Camps who offered special Discount for FEM Members in return they get a special VIP ALBUM!!

Here's a general list idea and link! More details on our FB Page: FEM. Lebanon

VIP Summer Camps 016!

My eldest is 5 years old and basically almost all of his friends and classmates have joined an after-school activity and will further learn more skills via their summer camp!!

We are still making sure to keep his brain as stimulated as possible at home...he have way improved his drawing skills, creating and building is own Lego sets, playing game-boards that enhance his mathematical skills among other fun games !!

Picture
Not to mention the endless Festivals we attend, our own FAMILY FUN outings that aims on helping our kids bonding with Nature, spending quality times in the outdoors, enjoying arts and crafts along to storytelling and last but not least playing, running and letting out as much energy they have as possible!!

Despite all this I feel guilt...I feel I'm making him miss out on more fun and having the chance to engage in other interesting activities!

Few more days left before we decide how it will be this year and if his 5th summer will be home or different!

As I said...Summer Camps are my current ongoing Dilemma...YET I hope decision was easier and smoother for my fellow parents!

Glad I was of good help :) I have to say there is lots of tempting and interesting options... yet I feel they are still young and can stay home!

I believe they have so much fun in summer camps and come back very excited to play at home with you and with their toys or to go out. Plus you can be less strict in waking up i usually drop them off 30 minutes late, no one will say a thing I assure you! My eldest is 6, i started colonie for him last year on Frere school gemmayze, its really good and the price is really very good for 9 weeks :)

My ongoing dilemma ... however workimg mothers dont have another choice ..... i used to research and research for the best summer camp until i discovered this .... the nearest possible to ur home is the best choice ...and to be sure friends and school friends are also enrolled ..... my son felt estranged all the period of summer camp last year.... plus i give them the choice if they wanna go this day or stay at home ... so they dont feel it is a duty

Totally understand and absolutely right! It's less of a hassle if location is near home thus reduce early waking time! Wishing u and u r son a great summer :)
