Just like all previous times, before we proceed with our booking, we first check out the hotel online.
We like to have an idea about the room, the facility, and provided services.. We always check posted pictures and read reviews from other people that will help us make up our mind. We got a GOOD result, so we called and the helpful receptionist informed me there's one room available for $120 (including access to the pool + breakfast) and kids are for free! She also said upon arriving and booking our money is NOT refundable IF WE DIDN'T Like the room!
Again I checked posted online pictures and found them nice... so I agreed!
But then reading online reviews is not always as PERSONALLY experiencing things :)
Here's our review!
Hotel: Cimer Saframarin
The nice lady gave us an admission FORM to fill out. We paid in full and took our room keys. Turned Out we have to park across the street in a designated outdoor parking lot!
Chalet Room
The chalet is spacious, not as outdated as our last week's experience,.. It had a fully equipped kitchenette (Fridge, electrical stove, kitchen utensils) a tray with juice, coffee and a bottle of water placed on the bar, a separate bedroom with 1 king size bed 9No TV in the bedroom) a tiny outdated bathroom, 2 sofa beds and a balcony with a nice sea view!
However, this room was not the same as ones posted online!!
We got our sunscreen on, placed shoulder floaters on my 4 years old, and as we were attempting to dip in the cold tempting water the lifeguard called out and said, "NO FLOATERS ARE ALLOWED INSIDE THE POOL!!"
Baffled with such weird news we tried to enquire why and he simply said, "Management policy"!
YES....No floaters allowed, not even a floating jacket or shoulder floaters (even with the parent's supervision), and that there's a baby pool as an alternative option!
Baby pool was small and my 4 years refused to swim in it for long!!
I have to say, it was such a tiring hassle swimming in the big pool with little kids and no floaters whatsoever!! That's beside the excessive amount of chlorine in the water which almost burned our eyes!!
Pool
We opted for a quick yummy dinner in a nearby restaurant, then headed back to the hotel! There was a party going around, and we enjoyed a night walk in the resort before we called it off for the day.
Unfortunately, neither the Bed nor the sofa bed were comfortable, people in the other rooms were loud and noisy, and we had a sleepless night,. Next day we were up since 7:00 a.m and too tired to do anything so we just stayed in the room.
Another hotel policy, breakfast is served in the room BUT not before 9:00 a.m!! So we waited and waited and finally our breakfast arrived!
It was POOR and not enough for all 4 of us! We even requested extra bread which never arrived.
What made our staycation worth it?
I just have a thing to waking up to the sea and listening to the waves crashing down the rocks!
I love being a close distance and having easy access to other locations!
Most important of all, it's not where you are spending your getaway at, it is the people you are spending it with and the new memories you make with your beloved ones :)
