Family Staycation at Monteverde Hotel

7/24/2017

Last weekend we were promised to go out on a new family getaway but we faced a car problem and we couldn't go far... alternative?

We decided to check in a hotel near us!! Personally I wouldn't do that cause let's face it, who would check in a hotel this close home especially we already tried it few years back!

But with no car, extremely hot weather, 2 kids, & 3 bags it's really a hassle to go to the beach for 2 consecutive days via a cab!!!

So we decided why not... And I'm happy we did!!

Monteverde Hotel

As with every time, we checked the hotel online, looked up for the posted updated pictures and reviews and decided to proceed with our plan.

We called in and luckily we found a standard room available ($90 + VAT including breakfast) with a sofa bed; however, we were charged an extra $30 for our 6 years old!

We agreed to the terms, arrived on check-in time, paid in full and went down to the 2nd floor to put our bags in the room!

Unfortunately, the lobby and floor waiting area were all the same! Old smelly carpet and very outdated furniture which was sad cause this place is

Rooms

I have to say room was an updated version than our 1st time stay almost 4 years ago!

Spacious, wooden floor, new style furniture, big storage place, it was also clean and spotless., In room amenities were available including a kettle, mini fridge, complimentary tea and nescafe sachets.

What i didn't like were the open and shared balcony! You can see and hear your neighbours thus we decided not to sit outside!

Pool & View

I have to say temperature of the pool, music played in the background, and surrounding view were just amazing!

It wasn't overly crowded for a Saturday afternoon, and for the first time we were able to stay swimming late and the last to leave the pool! It was so quite, so serene, so clean and refreshing.

We loved it!

Sunday it got very crowded, yet we still had room to swim.

However, We faced one major DRAWBACK: We were asked to pay pool entrance upon check-out !!
We've been to many many hotels and beach resorts in Lebanon (and abroad) and that was the very first time we hear that we have no access to the hotel facility once we check-out!

Manager excuse was being a Sunday hence we refused to pay it!

Breakfast Buffet

Breakfast buffet was served starting 7:30 a.m! Staff on floor were super friendly and nice.
Cutlery were clean, food tasted good, and variety was satisfying for our personal choice.

There was a variety of cold juices, coffee with milk, and tea.

On the serving Buffet table:
  • Cold cuts
  • Dairy products (Cheese, Labneh...)
  • Foul and Boiled Eggs
  • Pancakes and Omelet station
  • Basket of different toasts and breads
  • Croissants
  • English cakes
  • Flavored yogurts
  • Butter and jams
  • A selection of fresh seasonal fruits!

Note: You are charged extra if you wish to drink Nescafe with Coffemate

Sunset & Room View!

YES!

I Saved the best for last....

Watching the sunset and view from the room was the cherry on top for our sweet mini getaway!

Having a mountain and a pool view at the same time, the mix of my 2 favourite colors green and blue, the reflections created was just the enough refreshing dose that I needed!

And as with all our family adventures, outings, and staycations. It is the memories we end up creating with our loved ones and depositing them in the bank of love is what matters the most!

Make sure you create lots of them :*

Monteverde hotel seems like a great place to visit during my vacation. I'm sure that my family would be interested to go here. I can see how nice the service is and how clean the rooms are. I also love the scenery of the city around the balcony area. I'll show this with my partner, and decide on whether we want to stay here in the future.
