More than 30 foodies, food bloggers, and media started showing up around 6:00 p.m.
We enjoyed refreshing drinks, engaged in a fun games to win extra ingredients, before we were finally requested to step into the Game Zone and start a very friendly competition to come up with the best and creative Hummus Plate :)
The Venue
Hummus has always been a huge part of our traditional Lebanese Mezza. It's a very simple plate that's made up of Hummus paste, Tahini, oil, lemon and spices (according to each one's preference and taste)
However, Semsom (among many other restaurants) have added a exceptional twist to this classical plate with various creative Hummus plates including: Sumac, mint, olives and beet.
Participants in The Hummus Games were requested to use 4 ingredients from a wide selection of spices and ingredients provided at The Games and come up with their own creative version that will be featured on Semsom's menu around the Middle East.
The Game Zone
The market was full of wide variety of different colorful: spices, herbs, olives, honey mustard, raisins, pine nuts, sumac, sesame and pistachio among many others, all displayed in bowls. Add up to a huge variety of fresh fruits and veggies such as: Apples, bananas, pomegranate, cucumbers, lemon and oranges, carrots, zucchini, bell pepper, vegetables and legumes.
Market Ingredients
NGNO blogger Anthony Rahayel and Semsom's CEO Christine Sfeir tasted all the yummy plates before announcing the 3 winners for The Hummus Games - Season 2!
The spirit and positive vibes were rewarding enough.
Thank you Semsom for this lovely event.. I Loved being part of this amazing group!
